Oil pastels, acrylics, and a black China Marker. #mixedmedia #artjournaling

This quick sketch (above) in my mixed media notebook inspired me to work on the following smaller studies. Measuring only 2.5 x 3.5 inches, these tiny floral abstracts were completed in under 10 minutes. The goal was to achieve a sense of freedom and movement, uninhibited–without rules or too much thought process to get in the way of the creative mind. Children are so very great at this crayon-drawing type work. I guess that’s why children’s art is so appealing. Grown-ups need to play with their Crayolas more often.
